Leading the way in vascular care.

Personal Statement:

What I love most about interventional radiology is its ability to change lives in ways many people never expect. We’re offering treatments that are highly effective, less invasive, and often life-changing — procedures that can restore comfort, mobility, and confidence without the need for major surgery. For me, the most gratifying part of this work is seeing patients who have been suffering for years finally get relief — people who come in exhausted and discouraged and leave looking brighter and more like themselves again.

This is an incredibly exciting time to be in interventional radiology. What we do truly represents the cutting edge of modern medicine: using imaging to guide precise, minimally invasive treatments that can address everything from uterine fibroids to enlarged prostates, venous disease, and even symptoms associated with knee osteoarthritis. Our goal is simple: to improve quality of life. For example, procedures such as genicular artery embolization for knee pain are helping patients who once thought joint replacement was their only option experience lasting pain relief and a return to normal activity.

I’m especially passionate about helping women with uterine fibroids and adenomyosis. Too often, I meet patients who have been told their symptoms are “just part of being a woman” or who have endured years of discomfort because surgery didn’t feel right for them. When they learn there’s another option — one that’s safe, effective, and preserves their quality of life (and their uterus) — it’s transformative. Uterine artery embolization (also referred to as uterine fibroid embolization when treating fibroids specifically) is a modern breakthrough in women’s healthcare, one that simply too few women are ever informed about. In fact, less than half of women with problematic fibroids are ever informed of this uterus-sparing option, and only 3-4% of women who could benefit from UAE/UFE ever receive the treatment

I believe deeply in being a voice of truth and patient advocacy, so no one suffers needlessly simply because they weren’t informed of their choices.

Working in an outpatient setting allows me to provide the kind of hands-on, relationship-based care I value most. It gives me time to listen, to educate, and to follow patients through their recovery. The outpatient model also lowers the threshold for people to seek care, making it easier, more comfortable, and less intimidating to get help when they need it.

I trained in diagnostic and interventional radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and spent more than a decade in hospital-based practice with Radiology Associates of Richmond, where I served as Section Chief of Interventional Radiology and Executive Board Member. In 2025, I joined my longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Brian Strife, to lead Richmond Vascular Center. Together, we’re building a practice centered on compassion, innovation, and outcomes — providing the most advanced minimally invasive treatments in an environment designed entirely around the patient.
